ₓEXPERT COMMENTARY OF ALEXANDER ZMIKHNOVSKY, COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR OF ADVANSYS COMPANY
Sports clubs are objects with a constant flow of people and different loading of individual zones depending on the day of the week and the time of day. These are energy-intensive facilities (especially when it comes to a complex with a swimming pool), which implies increased requirements for power and load on engineering systems – power supply, air conditioning and ventilation, heating, etc. In addition, sports centers need complex access control and security systems, which should be integrated into the central facility control panel. Even a network of video screens in such a room is more complex, since it involves the demonstration of various content depending on the area where the plasma is located.
Today, customers planning to open new sports centers or upgrade existing ones pose several challenges to designers. Among them, of course, to achieve maximum energy efficiency of the facility, that is, to reduce energy consumption, while maintaining comfortable conditions of stay in the room, and to reduce the payback period of investments. For these purposes, an analysis of the site for the future sports center is being carried out and documentation is being prepared for determining the location potential, in other words, the possibilities of using a certain zone for certain tasks are being evaluated, energy audits are being carried out in already existing facilities. Based on the data obtained, the most profitable options are calculated. However, I would advise to look wider and pay attention to adjacent buildings, which, for example, can serve as additional sources of energy for a sports center now or in the future.
“TODAY A FEW TASKS ARE BEFORE DESIGNERS. Among them – to achieve maximum ENERGY sports center, that is, lower consumption of energy resources while maintaining comfortable conditions in the premises and reduce the payback period “
The most correct, of course, is to apply an integrated approach to engineering support of a new or modernization of an existing sports club. In this case, the tasks set by the customer are maximally achieved. We recommend the following: the introduction of a single object management system (BMS) with process automation, the use of alternative energy sources – heat pumps and solar systems, the installation of modern energy-efficient lighting and heat recovery systems, etc.
